About

I taught Latin and Greek language and literature since the beginning of my teaching career, especially focusing on Latin language, shorter Latin poetry and prose fiction. More recently, I was involved in the teaching of visual culture (especially art and gardens) and reception (art and epic). Arising from and feeding into this teaching, my research originally centred on Latin language, particularly sociol- and psycholinguistics as applied to Latin; subsequently Roman Art and the context of the house and garden. My interest in Roman Art and reception also makes productive contacts with my own artistic practice. I am an elected member of the RBSA and exhibit nationally and internationally.
